It’s almost time again for another great year of showing our wonderful Arabian horses! Plans are well under way for the 64th Annual Michigan All Arabian show. We are excited to once again be a dual qualifying show for Region 13 and Region 11, giving our exhibitors the ability to qualify for two Regional Championships.
You asked and we listened! New this year to the All Arabian are Performance Halter classes, Western and English trail classes, and Western Dressage classes.
We asked and they listened! AHAM expressed concern over the outdoor warm up arena at the Pavilion. As you all know, inclement weather would cause the arena to be unusable. We went to those in charge of the Pavilion to see what could be done, and offered to help. Well, they listened and responded. This winter, MSU completely replaced the base, drain tiles and footing. The result is a great new warm up/work arena. (not covered yet but one step at a time) Thank you to the Pavilion staff and MSU!
The MSUHTRC are joining us once again to bring everyone The Kentucky Derby live on the Big Screen! AHAM Youth will be helping with the fun. Make sure to find time during the Show to create your Derby Hat! Supplies will be provided to help you with your creation. This has become an annual highlight of the show. Refreshments, best hat contest and other activities will add to the fun. A HUGE Thank You to the MSU Horse Teaching and Research Club! They will have a booth at the show. Stop by and say hi, buy some logo wear or a membership and support this great group.
AHAM will be offering a NEW high point awards program to all of our members beginning this year. We would like to thank MHSA for allowing us to join in their program for the past couple of years. Once again, we listened (we are listening a lot!) and will be putting in place a new program for all our members with great awards. How do you become a part of the fun?? It’s easy. All it takes is becoming a member of AHAM. We have a great committee working on it. More info to come!
On behalf of the Executive Committee, Board of Directors and the All Arabian Show Committee, I would like to thank our members, exhibitors, show staff and volunteers. The 64th Michigan All Arabian is setting up to guarantee another great show. Great horses, great people, Great fun!
