AHAM BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING February 8, 2007 Attendance: Vice President - Ann Knoop; Secretary - Judy Zumbach; Treasurer - Ron Gekiere; Betty Horst; Mary Imielowski;Cheryl DuLac; Jerry Wurtsmith; Laura Brodzik; Chad Roberts Administrative Asst – Clara Burns; Guests: Si Burns; Judy Coats; Susan Tuck; Absent: Tom Connolly; Hank Ely; Terri Delbridge; Additions to Agenda: Addeddiscussion on Stallion Expo, March 9, 10 & 11 Correspondence: Nothing to report Administrative Assistant Report: As of this month, 277 adult memberships; 36 - 3 yr memberships; 2 life members (Tom & Ann Buchanan in Kentucky); 70 juniors Additional research into Dr. Rooker being a life member is being conducted Please view Region 13 website and AHAM’s information on their website. Follow-up item for Directors – provide input to Clara on what the wording should be regarding AHAM. Clara will then formulate new wording and forward to Region 13 to have their website information updated. May show; prize list set; 3 ads so far for prize list; hospitality on Friday, Saturday & Sunday is needed; 3 people are needed to donate money for donuts; Laura B putting a request on our website for volunteers. Also need 9 coolers donated. Final copy being submitted to Ann Arbor printing and as Clara will be on vacation, it will be sent to Judy Z. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Jerry Wurtsmith to accept January, 2007 minutes; seconded by Ron Gekiere. Motion passed. Treasurers Report: Ending balance $6,348.62; Motion to approve by Jerry Wurtsmith ; 2 nd by Betty horst. Motion passed. New Business/Announcements: Expo – Chad and Margie will be chairing; booth is coming from AHA Sign/Banner – motion was introduced by Judy Zumbach to price and buy a banner; 2 nd by Betty Horst. Motion passed. Judy will check Staples for prices. Need to get a large enough copy of our logo to put on banner. Will check with Northville Stitchery – Chuck and Nancy Mach Raffle – Ron announced that a 42” plasma HD TV – 1 st place and a hand-held DVD camcorder, valued at $1461.99 – 2 nd place will be the raffle items. He has submitted license application to the state. Tickets and license should be ready to go by Expo. Motion to have a poster/banner made for the Expo to advertise the raffle was made by Jerry Wurtsmith; seconded by Cheryl Dulac. Motion passed Tickets will cost approximately $150 to print. Raffle tickets will sell for $5 a ticket. Drawing will be at the August show. Laura B will advertise on our website after tickets are received. Updated Board of Directors Contact List was handed out by Judy Z Draft copy of a possible Newsletter format is still pending. Will have a draft available at next Board meeting. Mary Imielowski brought in a CD of photos from banquet. If anyone is interested after the meeting, they can see them on laptop. Also, gave disc to Laura B to have 4 or 5 pictures placed on our website. Discussion came up about AHAM selling T-shirts, sweatshirts and/or ball caps – Ann Knoop to research further Dressage/Sport Horse Report: Judy Z reminded Board about the South Lyon (Morgan) Tack Sale on 2/11 at the Middle School. The Dressage and Sport Horse Committee will have a booth there and will gladly sell your items. Directors/Officers Insurance: This is still pending.
